VITARIO is an inventory of lives: of the ways life moves through us, rather than the ways we choose to live it.
Each life is singular, passing through each body differently and shaping its own way of being. In these textile works, lives take form as animals presences and forces that move through the body, altering its structure, breaking it apart, and remaking it, as life itself does.
Each animal carries a distinct nature, a risk, and an intelligence. It may unfold in more than one direction. These pieces do not seek to correct or resolve these conditions; instead, they reveal the particular balance each one holds. What may appear as weakness can become structure; what threatens to undo us can also sustain us.
Ultimately, every life, whatever its form, is lived in its own way. And this, in itself, is something to be honored and to be told.
This work is an entirely textile series. Each piece is constructed through layers of fabric, in which the figures are not simply placed on the surface, but physically intersect and pass through one another. This crossing exists within the material itself: visible, dimensional, and structurally present.
The compositions are developed through delicate embroidery, subtle tonal variations, and carefully selected textiles. While these techniques build on my previous work, this series extends my exploration of volume. The surface lifts and recedes, creating a quiet sense of three-dimensionality.
Rather than merely suggesting depth, the work holds it. Multiple layers allow the crossing, one form moving through another, to be clearly perceived. The result is a textile language that remains precise and restrained while opening into a more spatial and tactile experience.
